Hike up to Cascade’s

So I managed to get in some time and drive 3.5 hours to Cascade falls that were a lovely falls but for some reason I didn’t get any good pictures of the falls so I might try again some day. The hike was great and cool, a nice breath from the summer. The trail travels right along the stream the entire time so there is always a photo opportunity. I even stopped by Mountain Lake right after this where the filmed Dirty Dancing.

Lee Bridge over the Island

The Lee Bridge is right in the city of Richmond. It is route 301/1 and there is awalking bridge underneath that is meant for pedestrian use. Taking that leads you to Bell Island in the city which is a great park to get away. The Lee Bridhge travels right on over the island and you can some interesting angles from in.

Storm over the Sunflower’s

Hello, it has been awhile since I last uploaded a photograph. I have had a busy summer. So much in fact I have not go to the beach to go swimming or relax. I did get to go to Washington and Oregon State which was really exciting. The summer has been hot here but still doesn’t keep me from going outside. Recently, the photography group took a trip to a brewery that had a field of sunflowers that were blooming. A storm was rolling in and added some interesting skies that day.

Reds at Maymont

Maymont park is really a great place a lot of people go to in the city. When the weather opens up on the weekend recently there has been some large crowds. During the summer some concerts take place there as there is a large open grassy area. The Japanese gardens located down the hill near the canal and river is really nice. The Japanese Maples have some nice red leaves in the sea of green that is bamboo and other trees there. Definitely worth a stop.

James River at Sun set

The photography group got out to take some pictures after a passing storm at sun set. I was hoping to capture some of those clouds but the wind took them away very fast and gave us some blue skies for the sunset. The CSX A-line train bridge has been standing for 97 years and the sun on the arches are wonderful. Still very active bridge with Amtrak and CSX using everyday.
