James River at Sun set

The photography group got out to take some pictures after a passing storm at sun set. I was hoping to capture some of those clouds but the wind took them away very fast and gave us some blue skies for the sunset. The CSX A-line train bridge has been standing for 97 years and the sun on the arches are wonderful. Still very active bridge with Amtrak and CSX using everyday.

Reflection Pools at 9/11 Memorial

The reflection pools that were built where the old World Trade centers stood are extremely gorgeous. The sky was beautiful and people were being friendly enough to let me get where  I want to take this picture. There was a good amount of people all over the city touring.

I took this with an Xpro-2 and a Rokinon 12mm lens.

One World Trade Center

I had never been to the actual New York City proper. I once back in 1999 I believe had gone over to the Statue of Liberty from New Jersey and I look back on a photograph of my sister and I with the two Trade Centers standing prominently in lower Manhattan. They had dominated the skyline then and now the One World Trade Center towers above right where they once stood. It is the tallest building in the United States and one of the tallest in the world. It looks amazing against the sky especially a deep blue when the weather is great. I was standing on one of the edges of the pools that are part of the 9/11 Memorial when I looked up and took this picture.

Sun on Rapids

Belle Island in the City of Richmond is such a nice place to go take a walk, ride your bike, fish and just enjoy the James River. With a groupp of photographers we headed out to capture the sun set on a pre-spring evening that had the parking lot and island crowded with people since it was so nice. I had just received my X-Pro2 that day and was enjoying using thus far. Looking west this image was capture using long exposure with the Rokinon 12mm f2 lens over Hollywood Rapids. To the right side of the photograph is where Hollywood Cemetery is above the train tracks.
