The Rocks

Building by the rocks

Down on Belle Isle in the city of Richmond, people usually of younger age go down to the “rocks” to sun bath and have a good time. Belle Isle is a island that is in the middle of the James River by the downtown of Richmond. It has lots of history but currently is a city park. This is the south side of the island where you can cross on the rocks if the water is low. Stair way bringing you down to the trail from the street above.

Taken with Fuji Xpro-1 with the 23mm lens at f/8, 1/160sec, ISO 200.

First Landing

First Landing walk

I went camping down at First Landing State Park in late September. The weather was still nice and got in some swimming. I wished I got more photographs that were nice but it was more of a vacation rather than a photo excursion. The beach was calm then and just right and was pretty empty. Sat there and read a good book. The trails through the cypress swamps were really interesting because it is one of the only areas in the state that has them. Especially the Spanish moss, it usually grows a lot further south like South Carolina. The park is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia and has camping and plenty of things to do and of course a drive away from the Ocean front.

Picture taking on my Fujifilm XPro-1 with the 35mm 1.4 lens.

Roanoke Cement

Roanoke Cement

Roanoke Cement factory is down the mountain in Catawba Valley. Most of the trail to Tinker Cliffs from Catawba Road is part of their private property but you are allowed to hike as long as you stay on the trail. Gorgeous scenery to been seen on the trail. I took my Canon 60D with me and my Fujica AX-3 with some Velvia 50. this was taken on the Fujica at 35mm.

Sea Oats

Sea Oats

Sun was rising up in early October. Still war enough to swim out in the bay. The winds was lightly blowing over the grasses and oats and you just hear the rustling of them.

Shot with a Fujica AX-3 with 50mm 1.6 DM lens on Fujicolor 400.

Leaves and Needles

Leaves and Needles

I go walking in the park and some times I bring my camera and sometimes I do not. It really depends. I tend to take macro shots but for some reason I was feeling to take a picture of these leaves and pine needles. Taken with Fujica AX-3 on Velvia 50 with a 50mm 1.6 lens.
