Norfolk Southern Passing by

I was down at the Great Shiplock Park in Richmond the other day with the girlfriend enjoying some nice weather before a hard downpour. The rail that cuts through the side of the park and cross the road is active and this train was passing by. The bridge right behind it is also an active line that has Amtrak and freight trains come through on either coming in at the Main Street Station or heading on up the river. The canal there and the lock at the end is pretty cool to see. Lots of people were stopping by to go fishing on the James.

Cloudy New York

I’m going through some of the photographs that I took on my trip to New York City and I noticed that since it was my first time there I wasn’t taking a lot of good photos but just typical tourist pictures with my sister. I did take a few where I took my time but we were on the move trying to get a visit of the city in 1.5 days. I feel like I did a pretty good job but I missed out on museums and other activities. I still want to see a lot of architecture as there are some amazing tall and older buildings in the city. The skyline is great and just shows that there is a lot more to look forward to when I can get back there to visit.

A Stop in Petersburg

My girlfriend had never been to Peteresburg so we decided to go down on a rainy day to look at Antique stores and go eat. We both brought our cameras and got around just fine. Not a lot of foot traffic especially with the weather spitting once in awhile. I had my Fujifilm X-Pro2 at hand with a few lenses.DSCF1394

There are a few murals in the City of Petersburg but not as much as Richmond. Petersburg is also going through some political problems like going bankruptcy and kicking the mayor out of office.

James River at Sun set

The photography group got out to take some pictures after a passing storm at sun set. I was hoping to capture some of those clouds but the wind took them away very fast and gave us some blue skies for the sunset. The CSX A-line train bridge has been standing for 97 years and the sun on the arches are wonderful. Still very active bridge with Amtrak and CSX using everyday.

Reflection Pools at 9/11 Memorial

The reflection pools that were built where the old World Trade centers stood are extremely gorgeous. The sky was beautiful and people were being friendly enough to let me get where  I want to take this picture. There was a good amount of people all over the city touring.

I took this with an Xpro-2 and a Rokinon 12mm lens.
