Meadow Farm Monochrome

On photo walks or days I take more pictures with my digital I am going to do more posts like this where I have multiple photographs. I have a local park where it has a lot of woods to roam in like my home. It is a lot closer and it’s quite except for the highway in the far distance. It has been chilly a lot recently but that day got cold really fast as when I left my hands were white and very dry.

My set up was my Fuji XPro-1 with the 35mm 1.4 lens

On the back side of the park there is a small fenced in pond that I think belongs to a farm that had this bent entrance with this sign.

These straight trees with not a whole lot of foliage gives great black and white landscapes.

In the Pine grove there is a small clearing with a few benches if you want to sit and read a good book.

Based around a farm that is historic in nature for the area, you can have a tour in the old farm house.

The pod was frozen over and these geese looked like they were having a good time sliding around.

thanks for looking.

Fujica AX-3 at the Isle

Fujica AX-3

We went out in the fall to Belle isle to take pictures and enjoy some more fall foliage. I left work a little bit and my girlfriend had just resigned from her job so it was more of outing because she was in a great mood. We took our cameras and I still had some Velvia film in my AX-3 to shoot on the fall colors. The camera was set up looking at the city skyline. I decided to take a picture of the set up with my Fujifilm Xpro-1.

Xpro-1 with 23mm lens, f/1.4, 1/4000sec, ISO 200.

The Rocks

Building by the rocks

Down on Belle Isle in the city of Richmond, people usually of younger age go down to the “rocks” to sun bath and have a good time. Belle Isle is a island that is in the middle of the James River by the downtown of Richmond. It has lots of history but currently is a city park. This is the south side of the island where you can cross on the rocks if the water is low. Stair way bringing you down to the trail from the street above.

Taken with Fuji Xpro-1 with the 23mm lens at f/8, 1/160sec, ISO 200.

First Landing

First Landing walk

I went camping down at First Landing State Park in late September. The weather was still nice and got in some swimming. I wished I got more photographs that were nice but it was more of a vacation rather than a photo excursion. The beach was calm then and just right and was pretty empty. Sat there and read a good book. The trails through the cypress swamps were really interesting because it is one of the only areas in the state that has them. Especially the Spanish moss, it usually grows a lot further south like South Carolina. The park is located in Virginia Beach, Virginia and has camping and plenty of things to do and of course a drive away from the Ocean front.

Picture taking on my Fujifilm XPro-1 with the 35mm 1.4 lens.

RVA – Richmond Virginia

rva

This is RVA or Richmond Virginia as the rest of the country would call it. This is my home city sometimes referred to as the River City with the James River flowing right by downtown. Richmond has their own class four rapids and lots to do for a small city. It has been burned down to the ground in the civil war but it grew back just fine!

Shot with a Fujica 35EE at 40mm with Fujifilm Acros 100 film.
