Catawba Creek

Catawba Creek

I went hiking in Catawba Valley in Virginia when the colors were changing. This creek bank had an interesting rock formation running alongside it. The day was perfect for hiking. I shot this with a Canon 60D with a EF-S 17-55mm with an ND filter for a long exposure.

Cheers

Smoky Creek

IMG_1743

I was riding along the road through the Smoky Mountain National Park when I saw a slight pull off next to this wonderful creek. The day was overcast again but that happens a lot in the park. The new is from the interesting climate and weather patterns that are there. I parked and set my tripod up in the creek and set a long exposure. Shot with my Canon 60D on my EF-S 17-55mm at focal length 18mm, f18.

Blurry Rhododendron on the Creek

Blurry Rhododendron

Walking along Wilson Creek in Grayson Highland State Park. It is a magical trail that follows these slightly falling creek lined with moss, rocks and these Rhododendron that hang out over the water. It was humid and the steadiness sound of falling water was the backdrop. There were probably at least 20 different types of moss I saw that lined the trail. I snapped this picture with my Fujica AX-3 with a 50mm DM 1.6 lens shot on Fujicolor 200. Shot at f1.6

Italian Water Gardens at Longwood

The Water Garden at Longwood Gardens are nice and symmetrical. Pierre DuPont designed the entire gardens and calculated the hydraulics of the water. Another interesting part is that he made the back pools 14 feet long to make it look symmetrical from the viewing point. It has been there since 1927. I took this picture on a slight overcast day with my Fujica AX-3 on Fujicolor 200.
