Close to the Sun

Here is another photograph that was taken at the brewery. The field was really nice to see and it was a long field but not very wide. It was a pain to cut across it since there was a lot of stinging nettles in the field, plus some of the flowers were 5 feet tall and right in your face in some spots. The storm clouds were rolling in closure and started to pour five minutes before this shot.

A time at Black Rock

It is hiking time. Hiking is really something that I enjoy and of course capturing photos. Black Rock is a short hike within Shenandoah National Park. It was something to relax on, easy walk, short and a place to sit and have a 300 degree view.

Kia Ride

So I had a Kia Optima 2017 that was my rental for our Washington Oregon trip. It was a nice ride that I put 2,500 miles on in two weeks. It was an upgrade from the car I drive at home. The rental over there was a lot more expensive then getting one here in Richmond. I took this shot on the road side in the John Day Fossil beds which is really a great place to check out in central Oregon. There was hardly anyone out there which was nice and quiet.

Rocky Rialto

Railto Beach is part of Olympic National Park and really was a nice beach. There were a couple of people out there but most were hiking north along the beach to further cliffs and sea caves. The beach there by the parking lot has “drift wood” all over but they are entire trees that would take three grown men to reach around and touch fingers if not more. The stones on the beach had a variety of colors and were mostly smooth and round. The mist on the water wouldn’t allow us to look out much farther then you see here out in the ocean. The water as you can image is extremely cold.

Verde Maple’s

I love Maple tree’s, there are so many kinds but they pretty much all have bright colors in the fall. The greens that this one was showing on a wet day was vibrant. If you want to get some great shots of maples, I have found Japan in the fall to be wonderful. In Japan they have food and items to buy that are themed on the maples that are turning in the season much like the cherry blossoms in the spring. This maple was in a Japanese Garden on our trip in Oregon. Couldn’t pass it up.
