Through the Tree

Walking in Bryan Park in Richmond is very relaxing. Not crowded usually and there are plenty of trails through the woods and have some ponds. When I took this picture I had just gotten a Fujica G690bl Medium format camera with the 100mm f3.5 lens. This image was captured using that on Holga 400 120 film.  So far really like the camera but I need to get a strap for it and one that can handle thee weight because this rangefinder is large indeed.

Honen-in Temple in Kyoto

Great little place up along the Higashiyama mountains that is off the philosophers path in eastern Kyoto. The temple is small but a pleasure to stop at. There are stairs to raise up into deep shade and the thatched gated entrance is nice. There are two mounds that sit right before you as you enter. They are supposedly to purify you as you enter. I was there in the afternoon and had to wait a long while before I could take this without anyone in the picture.

Expired Film at Big Meadows

So I went up to Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park back at the beginning of November. I was with some family and we had a great time and I brought a few cameras to get a variety of photographs on various formats and films. The colors were mostly gone in the trees but the reds in the meadows showed well. Fall in the park is a magical thing indeed.

Ektar Bamboo

Bamboo is here and there in Japan along with Ceder and Pine. You will find special walks through bamboo in Arashiyama and Sagano in Western Kyoto but this was taken at a temple in eastern Kyoto. Great temple, Kodai-ji has a lot to offer when visiting the Higashiyama area.

Otter Creek Early Fall

I took a nice long drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway this past fall which is really nice drive at that time of year. I recommend it to anyone for sure. Otter Creek is a creek that follows the parkway flowing south and meets the James River where the parkway is. No one stopped to look at the creek but plenty stopped at the overlooks.
