My start in film developing

I just started to develop my own black and white film and have a few rolls that I have developed. I have some from the trip out west from earlier and from earlier in the year. It was interesting doing your first roll as I never have taken a class so it is all new to me. I have been shooting film for about 2-3 years but always had a lab to develop and scan, last year I started to scan myself. I have shot color a lot less too but I hope to develop C-41 soon but been enjoying black and white film and leaving color for my X-Pro2 which does a fine job. This photo was taken on one of the photo clubs outings and this couple was sitting enjoying the view of Richmond.

Setting Sun at Libby Hill

Libby Hill is a great park that isn’t too far from the city center of Richmond. There is hardly ever a lot of people there and you can get a good seat as the sun sets if you just want to read a book or picnic. I took the photography club up there to catch the sun set but there were a lot of lower clouds that blocked it. There were still pink and red clouds to be had as the sun dropped even more. Plus you have Main Street coming right at you with lights and sounds.

Lee Bridge over the Island

The Lee Bridge is right in the city of Richmond. It is route 301/1 and there is awalking bridge underneath that is meant for pedestrian use. Taking that leads you to Bell Island in the city which is a great park to get away. The Lee Bridhge travels right on over the island and you can some interesting angles from in.

Looking over the Hill

My girlfriend and I occasionally go up to Libby Hill Park in the City where you can sit on the grass or bench and get a great view of the setting sun over the city. We will brings books to read while we sit there or I will walk around with my camera seeing whats going on. It sometimes can be crowded but this night was actually really relaxed. These guys came by for a stop to look before they kept walking down the street.

Falls at Great Shiplock

Hello again, I have really enjoyed using my Fujifilm XPro-2 since I picked it up. It operates a lot quicker then the XPro-1 and I love the Acros simulation in the camera. A lot of people ask me why I do not always shoot in raw at some of the photography meetings I’m at but the camera makes some wonderful jpegs to work with. I picked up a Samyang 8mm “fish-eye” lens for the camera and that is what I used for the photograph below taken with the XPro-2 in Acros simulation with a red filter setting. I hope to get more use out of this 8mm lens, it offers some great angle of view, great price and the quality is worth it. As long as you are ok with a manual focus and aperture ring.
