Gnarled braches

Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park is a great place to walk in a meadows. If you are lucky you would come by some deer walking and eating in the area. There are two or three small areas of these trees some are alive and some are not. They are also covered by lichen. I captured this on some Holga 400 film with my Fujica G690bl at 100mm.

Through the Tree

Walking in Bryan Park in Richmond is very relaxing. Not crowded usually and there are plenty of trails through the woods and have some ponds. When I took this picture I had just gotten a Fujica G690bl Medium format camera with the 100mm f3.5 lens. This image was captured using that on Holga 400 120 film.  So far really like the camera but I need to get a strap for it and one that can handle thee weight because this rangefinder is large indeed.

Rusted Light

I enjoy walking downtown after work if I can. Usually though I get out of work around 4-4:30pm and doesn’t allow me enough time to go home get changed and get to the city before it is already dark. There are a few days though I get out early and the summer is always nice as I have plenty of time after work before the sun sets. I was walking with my Konica Hexar AF this day with some Fuji Pro400h loaded in. Occasionally I see some old cars and some old rusty cars still being used parked downtown. I captured this in mid fall.

Honen-in Temple in Kyoto

Great little place up along the Higashiyama mountains that is off the philosophers path in eastern Kyoto. The temple is small but a pleasure to stop at. There are stairs to raise up into deep shade and the thatched gated entrance is nice. There are two mounds that sit right before you as you enter. They are supposedly to purify you as you enter. I was there in the afternoon and had to wait a long while before I could take this without anyone in the picture.

Temple buildings at Garan in Koya-san

Walking around Garan in Koya-san was great. There are some temple buildings there that were built in Kobo Daishi’s time (1200 years ago). We walked over to these buildings on the grounds that were west and not many people were there. It is in the shadow of the great pagoda there. great place t walk and relax.
