Stay at Mount Koya

My girl friend and I stayed at a temple lodging on Mount Koya that is just south of Osaka. The experience there was quite amazing and peaceful compared to the cities that we have been too. We stayed at Fukuchin Temple where we were served breakfast and dinner which was vegetarian of course. Not all my cup of tea but Ms. Chef traveling with me sure did enjoy it. We took a stroll through the town which after 5-6pm was pretty deserted. All the stores were closed up and there was only one convenience store opened. We walked back and saw that the other temples started to close there gates just like this one.

Roanoke Cement

Roanoke Cement

Roanoke Cement factory is down the mountain in Catawba Valley. Most of the trail to Tinker Cliffs from Catawba Road is part of their private property but you are allowed to hike as long as you stay on the trail. Gorgeous scenery to been seen on the trail. I took my Canon 60D with me and my Fujica AX-3 with some Velvia 50. this was taken on the Fujica at 35mm.

Out from Tinker Cliffs

From Tinker cliffs

I hiked the trail to Tinker Cliffs in Botetourt County Virginia that over looks the Catawba valley. The day was perfect weather, not hot or cold and the colors were rolling in. The hike is fairly tough to the top step in places but otherwise an enjoyable hike.
