Lewis Ginter Japanese Garden

Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens is a nice garden to go to in the Richmond area, it is a lot less busy in the winter once the light festival is over probably becase not much is growing yet till spring. There was a week that it was open for free right after the light festival and that was when I stopped by.

Expired Velvia at Peaks of Otter

Peaks of Otter is a little destination in the mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. There is a lodge and a camping ground surrounded by 3 mountains. In the image below the lodge is on the lake and Sharp top is standing tall behind it. It is a nice place and depending when you go might be very busy. When you get the opportunity also drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is very beautiful in every part.

Thanks for looking.

Rollei Dunes

This past summer went by way to fast but I was at least able to get out to the beach, Outer Banks to be exact. The weather was great as well. The beach is a great place to capture photographs just have to look out for the sand which can cause problems for the camera.

Walk to the Beach

I kind of already miss warmer weather (although it has reached 70 degrees in December already).  I am ready to get out on some more water, the river, lake, pond, ocean what ever I can. I enjoyed getting to the beach when I could this past year but it was mostly a quick stop as I was out that way for work. This was the beach access at 89th street at Virginia Beach. It was the last street and access before the base.

Fallen apples at Carter Mountain

Carter Mountain is like a staple weekend trip for the people I know in the fall time. You can drive up the mountain and pick apples straight from the tree. It can be a great time but you eventually realize that you have way to many apples in your bag and feel bad to waste them.
