Richmond Mural Walk part 1

A few weeks ago I held a walk in my city where we hunted down some murals that have been painting on the side of some buildings. It was fun as I wasn’t looking just for murals as my group is street photography focused. Was a great day with great weather. Was about 8 of us.

Photo’s taken with my XPro-1 with the 27mm 2.8 and 35mm 1.4

Down the Book Shelves

I held a short walk in Staunton Virginia a little while ago where we met at the Camera Heritage Museum which is the largest public camera collection anyone can see in the country. Pretty cool but they need more space and have been trying to get money donated to get a nice place so they can display more. They have so much cameras, some that are awesome from what I hear that are always donated to the place but they have to store it because there just isn’t the space to display. They are appreciative of the camera donations but they do need the money as well to have a better museum. They list a lot of duplicate cameras they get for sale to raise the money. I bought some expired and out of production film from them, they do have a eBay store. As I was walking around Staunton I saw this antique store with a row of used books in a tight hall.

Traveling up Fushimi Inari-taisha

The Fushimi Inari-taisha is a shrine that is for the Fox god. The hike up is splendid if you  can make it early where you see hardly anyone and its serine. It can be long so be ready though older people do it a lot as you will see heading up the mountain. The tori gates keep going up and up the mountain and the trail will follow through them. It is almost in everyone ones plans that is visiting the city of Kyoto to go here and see the thousands of them. This was my 3rd visit early in the morning.

Shoren-in in Monochrome

Shoren-in Temple is in eastern Kyoto and a nice garden and temple to boot. The temple allows you to view it from inside but also to take a path that travels the garden. Moss, azaleas and pond. It is a great gardens and place to visit and if you make it in the morning when the open it’s quite and enjoyable. So tranquil.

White in the Night

Walking around the streets in Japan in the city or just in the suburbs you will notice lanterns at shrines or in the front of restaurants. They are almost all different and look great at night as the light up the night provoking you to come eat or drink there.
