Petersburg Photowalk

Walking with my photography group we headed to Petersburg which is just south of Richmond VA down I-95. The idea since it has a lot of old structures that we would do black and white. I shot with my X-Pro1 on a Rokinon 12mm f/2 and Fuji 35 f/1.4 lenses.

The Love sign is a Virginia thing, since Virginia is for Lovers!

The 12mm lens with the f/2 is great, fully manual but fun to use an can not wait to use it for landscape photography in the future.

I have to get back to Petersburg again, there was a lot to see.

Nice ol’ VW Van parked in the snow.

The 12mm really  gets a lot and I know there is a 10-24mm f/4 from Fuji but significantly more.

Lots of shadows and there was still snow on the ground from our storm that came through.

Main Street Station

Main Street Station has been in Richmond for a long time, 1901 to be exact. It was the main station in the area until the 50s when the Broad Street Station took passengers (Science Museum). It now operates as a Amtrak station and events are held there. I was walking around down in the bottom with a friend when I captured this photograph.

Japanese Creature

Walking in Kyoto my girlfriend and I came across this in the middle of the street. Was pretty interesting, seemed like 2 badgers wearing clothing and wanting to drink. I had to take a quick picture.

Gnarled braches

Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park is a great place to walk in a meadows. If you are lucky you would come by some deer walking and eating in the area. There are two or three small areas of these trees some are alive and some are not. They are also covered by lichen. I captured this on some Holga 400 film with my Fujica G690bl at 100mm.

Through the Tree

Walking in Bryan Park in Richmond is very relaxing. Not crowded usually and there are plenty of trails through the woods and have some ponds. When I took this picture I had just gotten a Fujica G690bl Medium format camera with the 100mm f3.5 lens. This image was captured using that on Holga 400 120 film.  So far really like the camera but I need to get a strap for it and one that can handle thee weight because this rangefinder is large indeed.
