Expired Film at Big Meadows

So I went up to Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park back at the beginning of November. I was with some family and we had a great time and I brought a few cameras to get a variety of photographs on various formats and films. The colors were mostly gone in the trees but the reds in the meadows showed well. Fall in the park is a magical thing indeed.

My time at the Beach

I didn’t get much time at he beach this year. I stopped by a few times during work but only got two weekends of actual vacation there. The last time I went it was during a storm that was coming up the coast and causing coastal flooding so I wouldn’t have called that a “real” beach day. The one weekend though had great weather and offered some great walks out on the sand. that is when I captured this photo.

Seaboard Lounge Car at Parksley VA

Recently I been going to the Eastern shore for work a bit this Summer in Virginia. There is a small town called Parksley in Accomack County not to far from the known Assateague Island National Seashore which has the wild ponies. At this town there is a little railroad museum that has a few interesting cars including a Seaboard Lounge Car that is steel clad and super shinny. Looked great for a black and white shot.

Taking a walk 9-12-15

I took a walk on Saturday since I was holding a meetup but no one showed because I guess “weather” so I went walking around exploring some alleys and checking out the non-stop stickers that are all over the city, especially on signs. I will have to do a series of these stickers on signs someday. I was walking around in Jackson Ward area of Richmond.

Taken with my XPro-1 with the 27mm lens.

Stop! slapping stickers on the sign. Like the Astro boy one…

It isn’t just on signs but walls, poles and electric boxes.

Traveling up Fushimi Inari-taisha

The Fushimi Inari-taisha is a shrine that is for the Fox god. The hike up is splendid if you  can make it early where you see hardly anyone and its serine. It can be long so be ready though older people do it a lot as you will see heading up the mountain. The tori gates keep going up and up the mountain and the trail will follow through them. It is almost in everyone ones plans that is visiting the city of Kyoto to go here and see the thousands of them. This was my 3rd visit early in the morning.
