Cigar Factory

This is one of those photo walks that I set up with a guy that was offering some 200 rolls of expired film to shoot. Walking in the bottom in Richmond was where we decided to go to. The guy got a great deal a simple $5 for the 200 rolls including 35mm, 120mm and some sheet film. I grabbed some black and white film, Kodak BW400cn Film, since if it was expired maybe it wouldn’t look to bad. We stopped at the Cigar Factory there were the owner was sitting outside enjoying one of their many cigars. He was friendly and offered to step inside the take some shots. Today I used a Nikon FM2n with a 50mm 1.4 lens. The owner sitting outside…88590005Small place but had a nice glass shelf with boxes of cigars, a chalk board like wall with writing and nice seats to sit and enjoy a cigar.

I do not smoke but the man was nice enough to offer some more photographic opportunity so I step on in. Thanks for looking.

Taking a walk 9-12-15

I took a walk on Saturday since I was holding a meetup but no one showed because I guess “weather” so I went walking around exploring some alleys and checking out the non-stop stickers that are all over the city, especially on signs. I will have to do a series of these stickers on signs someday. I was walking around in Jackson Ward area of Richmond.

Richmond Mural Walk part 1

A few weeks ago I held a walk in my city where we hunted down some murals that have been painting on the side of some buildings. It was fun as I wasn’t looking just for murals as my group is street photography focused. Was a great day with great weather. Was about 8 of us.

Carrytown walk in the City

I run a street photography group where we go out every once in awhile we go somewhere to shoot what we see. Carytown is a part of Richmond where there is shops and restaurants. Friday night it can get lively and that is when we went an hour before the sun set. Was a great time and I had a film and digital camera with me. I took a lot but some didn’t come out as it was also a time out with the girl. I had black and white film and so I shot in black in white with my digital to stay consistent.

Next four pictures were shot on a Konica Hexar with Fuji Acros 100 at 30mm.

Nice couple we met that owned a Pizza place else where in the city, I need to stop by there…33560023 33560029 These guys posed after they had some Mellow Mushroom which is a pizza joint on Cary Street…033560030The rest of the images were taken with Fuji X-Pro1 with the 35mm lens, please no sitting…no siting The World of Mirth is a wonderful toy gag store in Carytown. They have interesting things and fun this in there and you can try on about 25 different weird/funny hats…puffy These guys were making some Gyro’s and noticed us taken some pictures into there restaurantmaking some food DSCF9992Across the street is The Daily which is been pretty popular every time I go by when it’s opened!DSCF9994

Girlfriend and Blossoms

I am pretty certain that I took a lot of pictures of the cherry blossoms this year. They were great and the weather was nice to view them. I took my girlfriend down to the paddle boat pond that is in Byrd park. Paddle boats were still put up probably from winter. Nice cloudy day. I used my Bessa R4M with Ilford FP5 film using the 50mm.

The blossoms are lined all the way around this pond. It is pretty nice and should walk around a lot more.
